Walton County School District 2020/2021 SPICE Program
Walton County SPICE Summer locations will be closed the week of August 10th – August 13th. Staff will sanitize and clean this week to get ready for students for the 2020-2021 school year. On August 17th, SPICE will reopen at the following locations: Van R. Butler, Dune Lakes Elementary, Freeport Elementary, Freeport Middle, Mossy Head School, West DeFuniak Elementary and Maude Saunders Elementary. Our state is currently in Phase 2 of CDC Guidelines. Therefore, we must limit enrollment to meet those guidelines. Once registration opens, (August 10th – August 13th) (Monday through Thursday) we will offer a first come, first served enrollment for children of “Essential Workers” and WCSD teachers from 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. At this time, SPICE hours of operation will be from school ending - 5:30 p.m. Once social distancing guidelines have been lifted, we will open enrollment to all students Kindergarten through twelve (12) years old. Fees are due upfront prior to childcare beginning and will not be refunded should your child(ren) be absent on agreed upon days. If your child(ren) are absent for 2 calendar weeks, they will be withdrawn and the next person on the waiting list will be invited into the program.
Paxton School: SPICE will be at the school’s orientations next week from 9:00-12:00 on Aug. 5th, and from 8:00-2:00 on Aug. 6th to obtain enrollment information.
