At-Home Learning Grade | Letter to Parents
April 14, 2020
Dear Sandpiper Parents,
In light of the current circumstances, we are so thankful that with your help and collaboration we have been able to continue the education process for our children. During this difficult time a grading scale has been devised to allow for grace and compassion needed to help everyone through this transition. The grading scale will be as follows: A= l 00-70, B=69-60, C=50-59. Grades will be calculated by Ma y 15th which will enable teachers to take your child's top six scores of either the online platforms and/or paper packets. This timeline will also provide your child with additional time if they want to pull a grade up. If school does resume in May, adjustments may be made.
All paper curriculum packets are due by May 5th but may be dropped off prior to that date in the school's drop box located at the front of each school. Each packet will account for grades in multiple subject areas and will average to be the student ' s fourth quarter grade. If a student worked on digital and paper-based lesson s, the highest of the two scores will be used. If your student is having any difficulty with digital or paper-based curriculum, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the school.
We look forward to our students returning to school, but we have enjoyed working closely with our families to help maintain education as a priority. If your student is having any difficulty with digital or paper-based curriculum, please do not hesitate to contact your child' s teacher or the school.
