Hungry for a worm? Seeds? 5th grade students in Joanne Saar's math/science classes engaged in a "battle of the beaks" lab. Students investigated animal adaptations before modeling how certain "beaks" are more or less effective at eating different foods. Students then collected their data to analyze and form conclusions.
